We are delighted to be back at SOMArts on Saturday, September 24th for an extravagant Folsom Gala featuring exquisitely erotic, sensually subversive, and particularly perilous queer performance art, including aerial acrobatics, suspension bondage, pole dance, and fetish acts, as well as interactive and display art & other participatory marvels. This year our Folsom event explores metamorphosis – “a change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one, by natural or supernatural means.” As always, proceeds go to compensate performers/staff and to support the arts venue, in this case the SOMArts Cultural Center.

Get "Down & Dirty" with the Bay Area's premiere pole-dance company, Flux Vertical Theatre, and thrill to the skills of these stunning performers, as they bring dance, gymnastics, theater and circus-arts to our swanky, second-story clubhouse!

On center stage at 1am our magnificent hosts Grace Towers and Larissa Archer will mesmerize you with Afterglow’s main show, featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race winner, fashion icon and boundary breaker Raja Gemini and a grand finale ensemble of dazzling community performers.

Also the fluorescent wonders of the Electric Spectrum LED Circus and pole-dancing powerhouses Aurora Rose and Cezar Lopez will be serving up sizzling ambience for your pleasure throughout the rest of the evening.

As always Comfort & Joy’s acclaimed empress of neon Chickpea (Brian Busta) and an amazing team of co-creating artists will be casting high witchery and fluorescent splendor, including Blitzy, Blue, Matt Picon, Steve Dudek, Mitcho, and more!

Our cuddle tent will also be back to hold space for more grounded interpersonal immediacy and caring touch, curated by the lovable Cobalt and with delightful tea service by the ever wondrous Carolina Sunshine.

And upstairs you can once again fall into a debaucherous dream of luscious delights.

Step into a kinky winter wonderland at an event that combines a scintillatingly sensual show with interactive marvels. This gala reception features exquisitely erotic, sensually subversive, and particularly provocative performance art, including suspension bondage, pole dance, burlesque, and kink-ified seasonal songs, as well as decorated selfie stations, interactive painting, winter-themed snacks, and other participatory activities. All proceeds go to compensate artists and to support the Folsom Street 501(c)3 non-profit arts and culture organization.

Attire: Twisted Windows is an artistic fetish environment, and you are part of that environment. Wear what makes you feel amazing and seize this opportunity for your finery to be fully appreciated! Think blues and whites, formal attire, leather/lace/latex, ice royalty, or winter wonderland adjacent. No effort = no entry. Attendees are required to wear masks at all times, except when actively eating/drinking (we will provide some packaged snacks and single-serve non-alcoholic beverages).

Entry requirements: This event is 18+, ID required. All attendees will need to provide proof of vaccination at the door, no exceptions. Sufficient proof of vaccinated status is a state/federally issued vaccine card, a photograph of your card, or digital vaccine record from the State of California showing that you are two weeks past the complete vaccine course. Attendees must also complete a symptom screening and attestation at the door. All attendees must abide by our code of conduct.

December 11th is going to be an amazing day of kink events – before the Winter Gala, don’t miss the San Francisco Fetish Flea at Wicked Grounds (just a few blocks away), and the Art and Artisan Fair at the Folsom Street Community Center – all part of the Leather & LGBTQ Cultural District’s Santa Second Saturday!

Two of our favorite pop/rap artists, Lizzo and Lil Nas X, get the Bootie Mashup treatment, as we mash them up throughout the night with everyone and anyone. Pole dance troupe Flux Vertical Theatre presents tribute performances for the 11:11 Show, and DJ Cip spins all the other hip-hop we know you love in the Lounge.

Showcasing the best mashups in the world ever, Bootie Mashup has been throwing genre-fluid dance parties in San Francisco (and beyond) since 2003, shamelessly combining pop songs both throwback and current. With our fun, creative themes, our diverse team of pop pirates have won numerous nightlife awards in multiple cities for over 18 years.
